Doubt

Image result for doubt definition

Doubt is a dream killer!

Doubt prevents us from watering our seeds of destiny.

Doubt causes us to hesitate and prevents us from taking risks.

Doubt leads to suspicion, which gives birth to confusion and ultimately indecision.

Its foundations are mistrust and skepticism, which cause us to be overflowing with cynicism.

All these are perfect ingredients for failure.

However, your story does not have to end that way, as truly there is a brighter and better path.

Notwithstanding, it requires faith!

As you already know faith is coupled with action.

Therefore you MUST act to see dreams fulfilled.

Steps to Success

Image result for hesitate

There are usually many steps to climb before reaching one’s goals.

All these steps are filled with a range of emotions. One can sporadically burst into tears or laughter at each location due to the intensity of emotions. These steps can be classified into four categories, namely DENIAL, BARGAINING, TESTING, and ACCEPTANCE (DBTA).

At the denial stage, we generally tell ourselves that whatever we are trying to accomplish cannot be done. We frequently use phrases like “I can’t do it,” “I am not good enough,” “I am not smart enough,” “I won’t do it,” “It makes no sense,” “It is too difficult.” At the stage, our eyes are covered whether by blindfold or scales, which needs to be removed so that we can see clearly. The truth of the matter is that all we need to do is exert a little effort and we will see the results we desire.

The second stage is the bargaining phase. We admit to ourselves that we want to have what we desire and seek advice on how to accomplish our goals. We inquire how to do it and gather as much information as possible. It is at this stage that we discover various strategies and become empowered to devise methods of accomplishing our goals. Plans A, B and C is developed at this level.

Thirdly, is the testing phase. This step is filled with trial, errors, and disappointments. It is at this stage that our language changes from “I will try” to “I can” and then ultimately to “I will do it.” This is the final step before accomplishment.

Finally is the acceptance level. This is the stage that we realize that what we once thought was impossible is now very possible. At this point, we can sing and dance to “Yes, I did it.” This stage is where we gain the confidence needed to be a role model to others. We become solidified in our thoughts that if we are able to do then someone else can also and we become inspired to help those who are still at the base of the staircase.

The key thing to remember while at any level is that you can do all things through God as He is the One that gives strength. Also, He is the one that gives knowledge and wisdom. Everything we need can be found Him. Never forget that when things seem impossible for you that nothing is impossible with God. At your lowest point, you are positioned for higher and greater things. The DBTA’s are really just steps to climb (though steep they may seem) to accomplish your goals and see the manifestation of the desires of your heart.

Hesitate

Image result for hesitate

Being cautious can be a good thing. However, sometimes we are too cautious which is detrimental.

Being too cautious can lead to us being unadventurous and simply just missing great opportunities.

Being too careful is driven by fear. Fear of what we perceive may be the outcome (usually and negative perception).

Hesitation can cripple us and prevent us from achieving the great.

Often excuses that we are too shy or not smart, strong or big enough is used to support our hesitant thoughts.

We spend an enormous amount of time wondering what to do.

If we are not careful, however, we may die while hesitating. Maybe not a literal death but our dreams and hopes may die while we continue to make up excuses and wonder which route to take.

We often even ponder about when we should act, whether now or later.

These moments of hesitation may lead to a lifetime of regrets and we will have no one but ourselves to blame.

Therefore we need to stop hesitating!

Stop procrastinating!

Take a leap of faith and just do it!

Center

Image result for center of the universe

Many people like to consider themselves as the center of the universe

They like to always have a role where they are center stage where all the lights and cameras are focused.

They could be described as egocentric as they have little regard for others.

They think every conversation is and should be about them

Me, me me, is their mantra.

Now I am not against persons being confident but to be self-centered is another level.

I believe that those individuals need a reality check so that they can be made aware that God should really be the center.

God should be the center of their thoughts, actions, hopes, aspirations, etc.

He should be smack dab in the middle of everything that concerns them.

I believe that if their focus could shift for a moment from themselves to God, the would be surprisingly satisfied with the trajectory of their “new” life.

It’s time to be God-centered instead of self-centered or man-centered.

A Good Match

Image result for a good match

At times we are misguided into thinking that a good match would be someone who is identical to us.

To the contrary, however, a good match is often that which is one that is opposite.

If you are the “yin” then a good match would be the “yang”

If you are a magnet then a good match would be steel.

Ask a socket what would be a good match?

and the reply would be a plug

To fit a jigsaw puzzle together then the pieces have to be different to fit.

Therefore if you are looking for a good match, then look at opposites.

Yes, it would be nice to be two peas in a pod, but peas in pods do not fit together.

However, negatives and positives do attract, so look for your opposite

Slur

Image result for slur

It never ceases to amaze me how people take pleasure in slurring the characters of others.

Not a word spoken nor action taken yet the very presence of the individual creates an upheaval that results in slander spreading like wildfire.

When will we grow up and learn to only speak about the good in others?

When we release the “crab in a barrel” mentality?

It is high time to realize that we do not have to tear others down with our allegations and insinuations to get ahead.

Come on let us join forces and hold up each other.

There is an army that is against us, fighting to prevent us from becoming.

Let us not be against ourselves.

You are a movement by yourself, but we are a force when we are together.

Away with the SULR!!!

Arid

Image result for arid

Sometimes we may be transplanted in areas that are dry and seemingly barren.

The parched earth shouts emphatically that no life can come forth.

If we listen to the voices we will soon like all before wither and die.

However, if we tap into what our Creator has to say about us and the purpose for which He created us .

Then we will recognize that no matter what environmental conditions we are placed in we are able to live.

There is something on the inside of us that is able to defy all the odds that are stack up against us.

Something on the inside that will enable us to sprout and cause our leaves to spread.

Regardless of the fact that the area may be arid – too barren to support vegetation

There is something on the inside compelling you to grow and bloom where you have been transplanted.

Baby

Image result for babay

Why is it that for females it is projected that their greatest achievement is to be married and have a baby? Especially if you are approaching 30 or in your 30’s. Every person you meet and even those you know for the longest all need to know when are you having a baby. They are seemingly compelled to make you aware that your “biological clock” is ticking. Now I am not against being married or having a baby. I think babies are adorable. However, some of us our sole purpose in life is not focused on contributing to the growth of the world’s population. Some of us have other goals like making an impact on the world.

I am in nowise saying that if one has a baby, then they cannot achieve their goals, but I believe it will take that much more effort. I believe that a single person with no kids has more time to dedicate to studying and implementing steps to achieving their goals. As such, I give credit to those who are doing it with a family. Yes mothers, I understand that you want grandbabies. However, I think people need to stop projecting their desires onto others. People have enough pressure to deal with on a daily basis and do not need any more added by others trying to live vicariously through them.

Stop doing diddly-squat

img1487260576669.jpg

As humans we spend an enormous  amount of time looking in the rearview mirror of our lives. Looking at “what if,” “could have”, “would have “, and “should have”, etc. while the present time passes is by.  We do diddly squat with our time that will be beneficial to our future.

Today let’s make an effort to change our customs. Let’s break the routine of monotony. Stop being complacent with doing diddly squat. There is a bright future waiting for us and all that is being required is our effort. Do something today that your future self will thank you for.  It doesn’t have to be something grand. Little efforts count also. Even if it is a change in your thought pattern. Stop procrastinating. Be consistent and you will be rewarded. STOP DOING DIDDLY SQUAT!!!

Reminders

20170215_090041

Some of us think of ourselves as superheroes. We get up every day and try to put out as many fires as possible and rescue as many people  as we can.  Although it may be a tiring and not financially rewarding job, it brings satisfaction to know our efforts helped someone have a beautiful day. Our lives consist of a constant  “ripping and running.” We do not focus on ourselves and our immediate needs but on others. Unfortunately however,  just like superman we have kryptonite that weakens us and our ability to perform. It is in moments like those that we are the ones standing in need.

I can’t honestly say that today was one of my weak days,  but it was one of those days that receiving a reminder filled me with gratitude.

So here is the story.  I came into my office to review my schedule for the day.  I did not do my usual greetings as I sat for awhile  diving into work. I had to leave the office for a brief minute and when I returned my light was off.  I  didn’t think anything of it as I knew that my friend had come to visit as he had not seen me as yet.  So I flipped the switch walked over to my desk and on my keyboard there was a note.  It was nothing I had not read before.  As a matter of fact I’ve seen the exact quote numerous times before.  I  read it quickly and was about to put it away when there was an urge to read it again.

This time I held the note in my hand and read it slowly.  It said “Good morning! This is God,  I will be handling all of your problems today.  I  will not need your help.  So,  relax and have a great day. ” I began to think of the many issues that I would love God to fix in my life some of which I consider to be mountainous. Some of  which although I’ve swept under the rug needed to handled as paramount emergencies. And to be reminded that God will be handling all those issues brought some comfort to me.

I re-read the part that says “I will not need your help.” I started to think of all the times I’ve tried to help God fix things in my life (only to make things worse) and chuckled.  I said okay God I will not help.  I’m leaving these into Your capable hands.

I shared this because reminders are good and necessary to have.   Not point out that we don’t know something, but serves to bring awareness to the forefront of our minds.

Today I’m grateful for reminders.
